How to Make a Folded Paper Cactus
Step 1 — Print and prep the template. Print the template on green and pink paper to save time, or print it on regular paper and color the pieces with markers or crayons.
Step 2 — Attach the pot. Fold the glue tabs on the base piece and glue it to your background paper, keeping the pot slightly rounded so it looks 3D.
Step 3 — Add the first cactus arm. Take green rectangle #1, fold it in half without creasing it, and glue the ends together. Then glue it just inside the top of the pot.
Step 4 — Build up the cactus. Fold green rectangles #2, #3, and #4 the same way (without creasing), and glue them around the first piece to create a full, stacked cactus shape. Check the reference picture for placement!
Step 5 — Fold the flowers. Accordion-fold each pink rectangle back and forth like a fan.
Step 6 — Shape the blooms. Slowly bring the ends of each accordion fold together to form a triangular "flower" shape.
Step 7 — Add the flowers. Glue the pink flowers to the background paper, just above the green cactus arms.
Step 8 — Draw the face. Draw on (or use the template) eyes, a smiling mouth, and rosy cheeks to give your cactus pot its happy personality.
